1. West Coast
If you live on the west coast, then you can usually get away with just having some fans or a window unit in your house or apartment. 2. South

3. East Coast
Similar to the south, if you live on the east coast, then you won't want to get a swamp cooler. However, if you live in a large apartment complex in a place like NYC, you may not be able to afford a central air conditioner. Instead, consider trying some window units. Depending on the unit that you invest in, it may be able to work really well in humidity which will help cool down at least one room in your apartment.
